Katie and Katie Adopt

1. How many siblings do you have and how would you describe them using two words?
   1. KT: I have one older sister named Abbey. Abbey is 28 months older than me to the day. In two words, I would say she is unconditionally loyal.
   2. KS: I have one older brother named Kevin and he is 3 and a half years older than me. I would describe him as fiercely supportive. I also have a younger sister named Kristin and she is 4 years younger than me. She’s definitely intensely protective. 
2. Who is your hero?
   1. KT: My hero is my mother. What she helped my sister and I achieve as a single mom is incredible. I will never take it for granted. We don’t always agree on everything, but she is a force to be reckoned with. Her love, like my sister’s love, is unconditional. She pushes me to be strong.
   2. KS: My hero is my dad. He has worked incredibly hard all his life to improve himself and the lives of his family members. He takes care of not only his immediate family but his parents, his in-laws, his siblings, and anyone who needs his help. I can only hope I can mirror his drive to help others.
3. What is your favorite and least favorite food?
   1. KT: My favorite food is pizza. I would absolutely eat pizza every day for the rest of my life. My least favorite food is anything with cabbage – most especially sauerkraut. The smell alone makes me want to leave a room.
   2. KS: My favorite food is donuts. I love donuts. Any donut is a good donut. I hate hate hate olives. Just the sight of them disgusts me.
4. What is one thing you will never do again?
   1. KT: Scuba Dive. I loved every minute of it, but I was also terrified the entire time. The feeling of constant fear was just not enjoyable enough for me to want to do it again. However, I was proud of myself for doing it at all. 
   2. KS: Just generally speaking, rush through things. As a kid and teenager all I wanted was to “get through” things. I just wanted High School to be over and then college. Now I do my best to savor every second I get. 
5. What are your hobbies?
   1. KT: My hobbies include running, camping, playing with my dogs, and golfing – essentially anything that takes me outside. I played several sports all through high school so it runs in my veins!
   2. KS: I ride horses. I used to ride competitively and now just fun leisure rides with my mom, indoor rock climbing with my brother, reading, and brewery hopping with my wife. I also enjoy evenings when Katie and I either throw the football or shoot hoops.
6. What is your favorite book?
   1. KT: I love to read, but poetry books are my favorite. I am a big fan of Courtney Peppernell and Andrea Gibson. So, any book they have authored I probably own.
   2. KS: My favorite book is The Girl With All the Gifts. Recently I read The Priory of the Orange Tree and absolutely loved it.
7. What is your favorite holiday?
   1. KT: My favorite holiday is the Fourth of July. I love fireworks and get to see them most often on this holiday. I also enjoy the swimming and family time that comes with Fourth of July.
   2. KS: My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love everything about it: the music, the food, the lore behind it, and it always makes me think of being a kid surrounded by my entire extended family.
8. What is your favorite sports team?
   1. KT: My favorite sports team is the Golden State Warriors, although I also love the Miami Heat. I am an avid NBA fan and my bucket list includes visiting every NBA stadium at least once. So far, I have visited six, one visit of which included meeting Dwayne Wade.
   2. KS: My favorite sports team is the Green Bay Packers. My grandpa is a die hard fan and he raised my father that way and so that’s how he raised us. My family owns several shares of stock in the Packers.
9. What song would you sing at karaoke night?
   1. KT: I would sing “Proud Mary,” but the version by Tina Turner and not Creedence Clearwater Revival. I know every single lyric by heart and it brings a smile to my face. 
   2. KS: I would definitely choose something by Britney Spears, probably Oops! I Did it Again. Everyone loves B. Spears.
10. What is your favorite thing about your wife?
    1. KT: My favorite thing about Katie S. is her loyalty. She is always thinking of me and my needs and will put me first consistently. She believes in me even when I don’t believe in myself.
    2. KS: It’s so hard to just pick one thing because Katie T. contains multitudes but to pick one of many things I love about her, I would say that she makes me feel like enough. She gives me support and believes in me and loves me so much that I never feel like I’m not good enough, in any way.
